Beki is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Exeter, UK (http://www.laurenbrent.com/people.html). Her research interests focus on the evolution of sociality and socio-cognition, and she is currently investigating relationship-relevant cognition in Rhesus Macaques (Macaca mulatta). Her PhD research interrogated the mating system, pair-bond dynamics and socio-cognition of Western Jackdaws (Corvus monedula). She has previously worked on mating tactics in primates, social and geographic correlates of the Killer Whale (Orcinus orca) microbiome, and the spatial ecology of barnacle populations. She is interested in understanding social and cognitive evolution by working at the interface of behavioural, evolutionary and molecular ecology.
