Joanne is a Marine Science Officer at BirdLife International researching seabird marine flyways. She recently submitted her PhD at the University of Exeter on the foraging behaviours of Eurasian Oystercatchers (Haematopus ostralegus) and Arctic Terns (Sterna paradisaea). During her thesis, Joanne used a combination of tracking devices and field observations to understand the foraging and migratory behaviours of these two species and how they are responding to environmental change and anthropogenic pressures.
