Emma Blackburn studied her PhD at the University of St Andrews on the wintering ecology of Whinchats in Nigeria, based at the A.P. Leventis Ornithological Research Institute (APLORI) in Jos. Her main research interests surround wintering ecology, site fidelity, and migration ecology, especially with the use of geolocators. Having recently relocated to the USA, she hopes to pursue postdoctoral research in the migration and wintering ecology of Neotropical migrants.
