Guy is a researcher who has been working on bird behaviour for the last 30 years. He obtained a PhD from the University of Cambridge. He has done field work on flamingos in Venezuela and on sandpipers in the Bay of Fundy. He has written three books for Academic Press on his main research themes, namely, social foraging, animal vigilance, and mixed-species groups. He now works as an independent researcher.
