Julien is the current avian surveyor for Yosemite National Park. There, he monitors the impact of visitor use and meadow restoration on bird communities and focuses on the protection of the endangered Willow Flycatcher. Prior, Julien graduated from Stanford University with an M.S. and B.S. in biology and completed his honors thesis titled, “Long-term avian responses to drought and urbanization in Northern California.” Beyond birding, Julien enjoys wildlife photography, which can be found on his Instagram or Flickr page.
