Łukasz Kajtoch is researcher employed at Institute of Systematics and Evolution of Animals Polish Academy of Sciences. His scientific interests cover ecology, conservation biology and population genetics of birds, particularly woodpeckers. Apart from his avian works, he is involved in studies on evolution and phylogeography of insects with emphasis on threatened beetles. He is involved in practical protection of nature and species in Poland.
