Meijun Liu is a PhD candidate at Beijing Normal University. Her current research centers on the Daurian Redstart, exploring both the behavioral and physiological aspects of this small passerine bird. Behaviorally, she uses stable isotope analysis to trace the migratory origins of individuals wintering in southern China, aiming to reveal the general migratory routes of the species. On the physiological side, she examines blood parasite infections in populations sampled across different wintering and breeding grounds, aiming to understand how migratory behavior influences parasite infection dynamics in this species.
