Wei Liang is a Professor of Ecology, College of Life Sciences, Hainan Normal University, Haikou, China. He is a distinguished avian ecologist and evolutionary biologist specializing in the study of brood parasitism, host-parasite coevolution, and tropical bird ecology. With over two decades of research experience, he has become a leading authority on cuckoo-host systems in Asia, particularly in China and Southeast Asia. Professor Liang’s research integrates field ecology, behavioral experiments, molecular techniques, and sensory ecology. Professor Liang has authored over 300 peer-reviewed publications, including in high-impact journals such as: Science, Nature Ecology & Evolution, Proceedings of the Royal Society B, Behavioral Ecology, Behavioral Ecology and Sociobiology, Journal of Animal Ecology, Ibis, Animal Behaviour, Journal Avian Biology etc.
