Mominul Islam Nahid is a Senior Research Officer at the Mangrove Silviculture Division, Bangladesh Forest Research Institute (BFRI), Khulna, Bangladesh. His research interests focus on evolutionary biology and behavioral ecology, with a particular interest in brood parasitism, co-evolutionary adaptations, and host parasite interactions. He also works on mangrove ecology, ecological monitoring and restoration, remote sensing, and the impacts of climate change on natural resource management. He obtained his PhD and MSc from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), Norway, where he studied co-evolutionary adaptations in two Asian cuckoo species and their hosts under the supervision of Prof. Eivin Røskaft, Bård Gunnar Stokke and Frode Fossøy. After completing his postdoctoral research at Hainan Normal University, China, he continues to collaborate with Prof. Wei Liang on brood parasitism research. His current work is split between working on brood parasitism and mangrove ecology.

Wei Liang is a Professor of Ecology, College of Life Sciences, Hainan Normal University, Haikou, China. He is a distinguished avian ecologist and evolutionary biologist specializing in the study of brood parasitism, host-parasite coevolution, and tropical bird ecology. With over two decades of research experience, he has become a leading authority on cuckoo-host systems in Asia, particularly in China and Southeast Asia. Professor Liang’s research integrates field ecology, behavioral experiments, molecular techniques, and sensory ecology. Professor Liang has authored over 300 peer-reviewed publications, including in high-impact journals such as: Science, Nature Ecology & Evolution, Proceedings of the Royal Society B, Behavioral Ecology, Behavioral Ecology and Sociobiology, Journal of Animal Ecology, Ibis, Animal Behaviour, Journal Avian Biology etc.
