Susan is a PhD student at the University of Milan, Italy. Her research focuses on migration ecology, with a particular interest in migration phenology of game birds in Italy and the migratory behaviour of the Barn Swallow (Hirundo rustica). Her PhD centres on the Global Barn Swallow Migration project, which investigates the migratory patterns of this cosmopolitan species at a global scale. In her free time, Susan enjoys bird ringing, gardening and dancing.
