John Mallord

John works as a Senior Conservation Scientist for the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB), based in Sandy, UK. After a PhD investigating the impacts of recreational disturbance on Woodlark populations on heathland (in Dorset, England), since 2006 he has been working for the RSPB Centre for Conservation Science, working on a range of declining species. After several years working in the UK, in 2013 he led RSPB’s research into Afro-Palaearctic migrants on the wintering grounds in West Africa. Currently, John leads the RSPB’s research into Asia’s vultures, including providing scientific support to in-country partners in South and South-east Asia.
