David López-Idiáquez is currently a post-doctoral researcher at Universidad Complutense of Madrid. He is interested in understanding why animals behave in the way they do, and also in the fitness consequences of those behaviours under different environmental conditions. David obtained his PhD in 2017, which was focused on understanding how the mediating role of environmental conditions on the expression and function of different melanin-based traits. Currently, he is trying to disentangle the behavioural meaning of different components of calling behaviour in Pied Flycatchers (Ficedula hypoleuca).
