Does higher ambient temperature advance incubation?
About the author
David Diez-Méndez has recently joined the Laboratory of Multitrophic Interactions (Biology Centre CAS, Czech Republic) after submitting his PhD thesis focused on incubation behaviour in Great Tits. He is interested in incubation behavioural responses to ambient temperature, with special emphasis on the consequences for hatching asynchrony and the length of the incubation period. As a natural continuation of this work, he currently focuses on the other side of the story, when birds are out of the nest foraging, and the physiological consequences of changing diets.
