Juan Carlos Alonso is Research Professor at the CSIC. His research fields are behavioural ecology and conservation biology. Working mostly with birds, his research has been typically based on long-term monitoring of behavioural patterns and life histories of marked individuals. By linking individual behaviour with population ecology, his aim is to find answers to fundamental questions in evolutionary and behavioural ecology that could also be applied to the conservation of the species and systems studied.

Carlos Palacín completed his PhD thesis on the migratory behaviour of the Great Bustard, Otis tarda in the Iberian Peninsula. He is interested in movement and spatial ecology (using life histories of tagged individuals), population dynamics (through long-term monitoring), and the effects of human activity on threatened species, especially on endangered farmland birds.

Inmaculada is a biologist and has worked for the LIFE Ricotí project as a field assistant. Since 2017, she has been working on her PhD which is a part of the Houbara Bustard (Chlamydotis undulata fuertaventurae) Project at the National Museum of Natural Sciences (CSIC). The aim of her thesis is to study the movements and behaviour of Houbara Bustards in the Canary Islands.
