Dali is a PhD student studying how to build population trajectories and multi-species indicators from systematic citizen science projects, to identify the potential threats to those species, and to plan conservation actions. He has been a keen birder since 2001 and is also a keen writer and translator of popular science books. Since 2011, Dali has held a position as an Assistant Research Fellow within the Endemic Species Research Institute in Taiwan, working on wildlife-habitat relationships, biodiversity-friendly agriculture, citizen science (Taiwan New Year Bird Count), and bird conservation (State of Taiwan’s Birds), and was affiliated there when conducting this research.
