Javier Oñate Casado is a behavioural ecologist and will start his PhD at the Department of Ecology, Charles University in fall 2020. His project will explore the cultural evolution of birdsong in space and time by comparing species in mainland and island systems. He is particularly interested in the behavioural ecology of different taxa and its application for conservation goals. He loves fieldwork and is especially motivated when it is harsh and physically demanding. He is continuously in search of new collaborations and challenges that allow him to learn new and complementary skills.
