Jón Einar Jónsson is a research professor and director at the University of Iceland, University of Iceland Research Centre in Snæfellsnes. His fields of interest are particularly ecology, zoology and behaviour. He has mostly worked with ducks, geese and seabirds but is interested in all birds. He is presently working on nest site selection, breeding phenology, population dynamics, survival, and breeding biology of common eider in the Breiðafjörður Bay, West Iceland.
