Paul Dufour has a research associate position at the Swiss Ornithological Institute, based in Sempach, Switzerland. He is broadly interested in the evolution of movements in birds and tries to understand how these movements can influence eco-evolutionary processes. He started studying different Siberian passerines with increasing occurrences in Europe. With his colleagues, he is investigating the proximate causes of these vagrancy phenomena and how lost individuals may act as pioneers in the establishment of new routes.
