Pedro is a post-doc researcher at University Pablo de Olavide and the German Centre for Integrative Biodiversity Research (iDiv). His research is based on various aspects related to the illegal parrot trade in the Neotropics, focusing on the effects that this human activity has on one of the most globally threatened groups of birds. He also addresses other ecological aspects, keeping these striking birds as a study model, such as the impact that their disappearance can have on ecosystems due to the loss of ecological functions, or their effects when they are introduced outside their native habitats.
