Rodney Siegel is Executive Director of The Institute for Bird Populations, in Point Reyes Station, California. In addition to migratory connectivity, his personal research interests include the effects of fire and fire management on forest birds, the conservation of meadow birds in the Sierra Nevada, the ecology and conservation of owls, and the effects of climate change on forest birds. He is particularly interested in research that has practical applications for management and conservation. Rodney received a B.A. from Yale College and Ph.D. from the University of California, Davis.
