Pablo Plaza has a PhD in Biology from Comahue University, INIBIOMA-CONICET, Argentina. His investigations are focused on different aspects of conservation and medicine of scavengers birds. In the last years, he has published different studies related to the impacts of toxic metals, pesticides and food subsidies on vultures and condors.

This review was undertaken in collaboration with Dr. Guillermo Blanco, from Department of Evolutionary Ecology, Museo Nacional de Ciencias Naturales (CSIC), Madrid, Spain, and Dr. Sergio Lambertucci from the Argentine Research Council, CONICET, and Comahue University.

Guillermo Wiemeyer is a veterinarian PhD. He is specialized in wildlife medicine and conservation medicine. Currently, he works at Ecoparque Buenos Aires rehabilitating different birds of prey, especially Andean Condors. In the last years, he published different studies related with the negative impacts of toxic metals in Andean Condors.

Sergio Lambertucci is a Principal Researcher at the Argentina research council CONICET (Consejo Nacional de Investigaciones Científicas y Técnicas) and Universidad Nacional del Comahue. He studies the response of natural populations to anthropogenic disturbances, and investigates general aspects of ecology and conservation of species in diverse ecosystems.
