Soladoye Iwajomo is a Faculty member in the Department of Zoology at the University of Lagos, Nigeria, where he studies how birds move, adapt, and thrive in a changing world. His work brings together migration ecology, behavioural ecology, and urban ecology to understand how birds respond to both natural and human-driven environmental shifts. He is particularly interested in intra-African migration, exploring when and how birds travel across the continent and the ecological factors that shape their journeys. His research also looks at how birds adjust their behaviour in the face of disturbance and how cities and surrounding landscapes can still provide refuge for avian life. Beyond his research, Soladoye is passionate about mentoring young ecologists and inspiring citizen scientists participation in bird monitoring and conservation initiatives.
