Nina O'Hanlon

Nina O’Hanlon is a Research Ecologist at BTO Scotland, with a particular interest in seabird ecology and conservation. After a PhD on Herring Gull foraging ecology, Nina did a post-doc at the Environmental Research Institute, University of the Highlands and Islands, where she is still an Associate, investigating anthropogenic threats to seabirds, focusing on plastics and oil pollution.

Steve was the BOU’s Chief Operations Officer of 25 years until July 2022. He was responsible for the day to day running of all BOU activities including social media and communications. He now spends his time birding the Orkney isle of Westray.

Tom Finch (he/him)

Tom Finch (he/him)

Tom Finch works for the RSPB as a Conservation Scientist. His interests include conservation, agriculture & bird migration. He completed his PhD at the University of East Anglia in 2016, where he studied the breeding ecology and migration of the European Roller. Tom is currently chair of the BOU’s Engagement Committee.
