Abdul Jamil Urfi has been conducting field research on the Painted Stork in India since 1985 and has written a monograph on the subject, The Painted Stork, Ecology and Conservation. He is Professor at the Department of Environmental Studies, University of Delhi, India and is planning to write a popular account of his life long involvement with studies on birds, particularly on the Painted Stork.
