Abdul Jamil Urfi

Abdul Jamil Urfi conducted field research on the Painted Stork in India since 1985 which culminated in his books, the latest being Painted Stork, Exploring ecology and conservation in India. He recently retired as a senior Professor at the Department of Environmental Studies, University of Delhi, India, after over 25 years of teaching and research.

Mylswamy Mahendiran is senior scientist at Sálim Ali Centre for Ornithology and Natural History, Anaikatty, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu 641 108, India. He studied ecology of cormorants for his PhD at the University of Delhi and has been involved with non-invasive methods in field ornithological research having published in Royal Society Open Science, Methods in Ecology and Evolution and Scientific Reports on waterbirds.

Paritosh Ahmed completed his PhD in the field ecology of Painted Stork in Delhi region from the University of Delhi, studying vigilance behaviour and thermal adaptations. He currently teaches environmental studies in a college in Delhi University.
