Hazel Jackson completed her PhD at the Durrell Institute of Conservation and Ecology (DICE) at the University of Kent in 2015, on evolution and conservation genetics of invasive and endemic parrots. Having completed her postdoctoral research on the Seychelles Black Parrot, Hazel is currently working on the population genetics of critically endangered Arabian leopards. Hazel’s research interests centre around evolutionary conservation genetics, phylogenetics and biogeography, and using molecular techniques to understand fundamental eco-evolutionary questions in invasion biology and species conservation.
