Henk-Jan did a PhD at the Netherlands Institute of Ecology (NIOO-KNAW) studying the impacts of disturbance on wintering Eurasian Oystercatchers as part of the CHIRP (Cumulative Human Impact on biRd Populations) project (www.chirpscholekster.nl). After finishing his PhD in 2021 he now works on lichens at the Dutch Bryological and Lichenological Society (www.blwg.nl).
