Justyna is a scientist at the Museum and Institute of Zoology (Polish Academy of Sciences), based in Warsaw, Poland. Her PhD, obtained at the Jagiellonian University in Kraków, Poland, focused on eco-immunology. Afterwards, she moved onto work on conservation, inbreeding depression and population genetics of the Aquatic Warbler. She has obtained funding from the British Ornithologists’ Union, the Polish National Science Centre and (in collaboration) the German Ornithological Society.
