Peter Cosgrove is Director of Ecology at Alba Ecology Ltd. He works on a variety of bird species and is currently leading research projects on breeding Red-throated Divers Gavia stellata, Golden Eagles Aquila chrysaetos and Whimbrel. Peter has a special fascination with the globally threatened freshwater pearl mussel, which he has worked on for 20 years. In 2014, Peter and his research colleagues were awarded the RSPB’s Nature of Scotland ‘Species Champion’ award for their conservation work on this species in Scotland.
