My name is Ron Efrat. I started my scientific journey the first day I looked at a bird through binoculars. From there, the road followed an almost predictable route through bird ringing, a BSc in biology and environmental studies, an MSc studying pelican migration and a PhD studying vulture behavior and conservation. The paper presented in this blog was part of my previous postdoc in which I studied migratory behaviors of raptors. I am currently a postdoc at the Max Planck Institute of Animal Behavior in Germany, and in general I am studying conservation and movement ecology.
