Shailee is a Ph.D. candidate in the Ecology, Evolution, and Environmental Biology Department at Columbia University. She studies the evolution of cooperative societies, focusing on superb starlings, a cooperatively breeding bird found in East Africa. Outside of academia, Shailee enjoys reading fiction (like, a lot) and teaching her dog new tricks.
