By day Simon Gillings is Principal Data Scientist at BTO, overseeing the research and development of the Breeding Bird Survey, BirdTrack, our bioacoustics work (e.g. Acoustic Pipeline) and projects integrating datasets for conservation and management applications. By night he is part of the Trektellen network of sound recordists monitoring nocturnal migrants by recording their flight calls.
