Thomas Mérő

Thomas received his PhD in 2016 in animal ecology, and is currently working in the Centre for Ecological Research in Hungary. He studies the effects of grassland restoration and vegetation managements on small mammals, and effects of reed management actions on wetland birds and their functional groups. He investigates the life history, habitat selection, habitat management and reproduction biology of the Great Reed Warbler and of the brood parasite Common Cuckoo, in natural and human-made wetland habitats. Finally he is interested in movement patterns, feeding and wintering strategies of Eurasian Sparrowhawks (Accipiter nisus) in urban areas.
