Hugh Wright undertook his PhD at the University of East Anglia on the conservation ecology of the Critically Endangered White-shouldered Ibis, studying their breeding and foraging ecology and their interaction with the land management by local people in Cambodia. He now works on scientific advice for the UK governments, supporting the designation and management of marine protected areas. Hugh currently sits on the BOU Council and Engagement Committee.
