Bob Furness

Bob is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh with over 40 years’ experience in academic ornithology and was Professor of Seabird and Fishing Interactions at the University of Glasgow. As a Board Member of SNH for eight years he chaired the SNH Scientific Advisory Committee and has been closely involved with designations of protected areas and seabird conservation. Since retiring from the University of Glasgow he was appointed Principal Ornithologist at MacArthur Green. Bob spent 35 consecutive summers studying Great Skuas and other seabirds at Foula, Shetland.
