Tiia is a postdoctoral researcher at the National Museum of Natural History of Madrid (Spain) interested broadly in aging and stress biology, and other physiological markers that underly different life-history decisions. She did her PhD at the University of Turku (Finland) where she studied effects of the environment on the telomere dynamics of nestlings and adults using the pied flycatcher as a study species. Currently, using spotless starlings as a model species, she focuses more on the early life conditions and how they affect different physiological markers that are indicative of future fitness.
