Dagmar is a conservation ecologist pursuing a PhD in Shelducks with a focus on the movement ecology of individuals. Outside of her PhD studies, she has developed a particular passion for all types of bird monitoring projects on land and at sea. She believes that good monitoring data are the most valuable foundation for managing important bird areas. As a freelancer and as a volunteer, she collects and evaluates these data and enjoys implementing the resulting management ideas with a team of enthusiastic people. Her main focus is on a protected wetland on land, Beltringharder Koog in Germany, where she also captured and GPS-tracked most of the shelducks shown in the study above.
