David Diez-Méndez is currently finishing his PhD about female incubation behaviour in secondary hole-nesting passerines. More specifically, he is interested in the effect of incubation during the egg laying period on hatching success and hatching asynchrony. To complement this project he also studies the relationship between ambient temperature and nest attentiveness, as well as the implications in breeding success. David benefitted from a 4-year FPI fellowship at the Museo Nacional de Ciencias Naturales (MNCN-CSIC) in Madrid (Spain) under the supervision of Dr. Juan José Sanz (MNCN-CSIC) and Dr. Emilio Barba (University of Valencia) to work on this project.
