Having completed a BSc in Conservation Biology at the University of the West of England, Megan Murgatroyd began her PhD at the University of Cape Town in 2011. Her thesis, which has been submitted for examination, investigates the ecology of the Verreaux’s eagle in a natural (the Cederberg) and an agriculturally transformed habitat (the Sandveld) in South Africa. Following this, Megan will be based at the Percy Fitz Patrick Institute of African Ornithology in a post-doc position.
