Mia is an ecologist with an interest in understanding the effects of microclimate on species distributions at different spatial scales. She is currently working as a post-doc on the Hot Birds Research Project at the University of Pretoria, investigating the role of mistletoes in providing microclimatic refugia for birds under increasing temperatures.
