Mike Weston lectures in Wildlife and Conservation Biology at Deakin University in Victoria, Australia. He has studied and worked to conserve Australia’s ground-nesting, and especially beach-nesting birds for over two decades, using adaptive management approaches to improve their reproductive success and conservation status. Part of understanding the conservation ecology of a species involves understanding the threats species face, so Mike and his students also study Corvids, dogs and even humans! The basic ecology of these species also represents critical knowledge, and is an area of passionate research interest for Mike.
