Peter Søgaard Jørgensen is a biologist studying the macroecological consequences of anthropogenic global environmental change and sustainable solutions that can address the resulting grand challenges. He has a PhD from the Center for Macroecology, Evolution and Climate at the University of Copenhagen where he used the breeding bird surveys of Europe and North America to study avian responses to climate change. He is currently a post-doctoral researcher at the Global Economic Dynamics and the Biosphere programme at the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences. Here, Peter’s research focuses on unveiling recent macroscopic social and environmental trends in the material use of national economies.
