Steffen Oppel is a Senior Conservation Scientist at the RSPB Centre for Conservation Science. The goal of his work is to achieve effective conservation of globally threatened species and their habitats through collaboration with partner organisations in the global network of BirdLife International. His uses robust scientific approaches to monitor populations, identify the causes for population declines, and develop and test effective management solutions that are practically feasible and benefit threatened species. His current work portfolio includes seabirds, raptors, songbirds, and a wide range of invasive species which threaten the native biodiversity of remote islands.
