Marta Acácio is a PhD student at the University of East Anglia, focusing on the drivers of dispersal and migratory movements of long-lived birds. After a few years working with animal tracking technology, Marta is now putting the theory into practice by studying the movement ecology of White Storks, Black Storks, and Shoebills. She is particularly interested in how environmental variables influence animal movement and how individuals change their movement behaviour over time.
