Bianca Vieira is an ornithologist who studies the ecology and migration of seabirds and shorebirds. She has been studying the effects of anthropogenic activities and environmental changes on coastal species and habitats, and quantifying species in the Brazilian Atlantic Forest using visual observations, photography, and ringing recoveries analysis. Her interests focus on migration ecology, conservation biology, population dynamics, and spatial ecology. She is co-founder of the Latin American Seabird Group, counsellor at Pectem Technology, and coordinator of an independent long-term monitoring project of coastal birds in southern Brazil. Her PhD project is supported by the Brazilian Agency CAPES.
