Eben Goodale is the head of the Behavioral & Community Ecology, Conservation Biology Group of Guangxi University, China. His research focuses on how behavior, particularly communication, affects the interactions between species, and how knowledge about such interactions can be integrated into conservation and management plans. Much of his work has been done on birds and in Sri Lanka, but he has also conducted research in India, Papua New Guinea, and China, and has worked on communication in bees. He has co-written a book on mixed-species animal groups and over 60 peer-reviewed articles. He lives with his wife, Uromi Manage Goodale, and his son, David, in Nanning, China.
