Jenni Border did her PhD looking at population limitations in Whinchats at Lancaster University in 2012-2015 as part of a collaboration between the British Trust for Ornithology (BTO) and Lancaster University. Since then she has been working as a Spatial Ecologist at BTO but is still involved with Whinchat work as much as possible. She recently ran a marathon and 50 miles in a weekend to raise money for further BTO research on Whinchats.
