Yannick is an early-career researcher currently working as a postdoctoral researcher in marine ornithology at Université du Québec à Rimouski (QC, Canada). He recently obtained his Ph.D. from Université Laval (QC, Canada) working on the ecology of the Long-tailed Jaeger in the Canadian Arctic. Through his thesis, he explored many aspects of the Jaegers’ ecology, including migratory strategies, reproduction, and carry-over effects, as well as resource competition between Jaegers and other avian predators of the Arctic tundra. Currently, he is working on the demographic and reproductive impacts of the spring 2022 outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza in Northern Gannets at Bonaventure Island (Percé, QC, Canada). Yannick was also affiliated with the Centre d’études nordiques when conducting this research.
