Zach Gayk is a PhD Candidate in the Department of Integrative Biology, at the University of Windsor, Ontario. Zach grew up in the rugged Keweenaw Peninsula of Michigan, USA, along the shores of Lake Superior, where he developed a passion for watching fallouts of migratory birds, especially the wood warblers. Zach completed his Bachelor’s degree working on Boreal Chickadee habitat partitioning, and his Master’s degree on the evolutionary genomics of the Common Loon, at Northern Michigan University. An obsessed birder and dedicated naturalist, the evolution of songbird migration has fascinated Zach for many years.
