Leo has been Director of the Australian National Wildlife Collection in Australia’s federal science agency, CSIRO, since November 2005. He developed an early but lifelong interest in the evolution of birds and especially how it can be studied in a museum collections environment. He has worked on South American birds but is deep into Australian and New Guinean birds these days. At heart his roots are good old-fashioned birding and he looks forward to doing more of that in coming years.
