Yosef has been studying bird moult for the last 20 years. He has worked as an ornithologist, bird-ringer and director of the Israeli Bird Ringing Center (IBRC). Yosef finished his PhD which dealt with the ecology and evolution of feather moult at the University of Haifa, (Israel), a subject that constitutes his main field of specialization. And, he has authored or co-authored several innovative scientific papers in this field. Currently, Yosef is a postdoctoral research fellow at the Field Museum of Natural History (Chicago, USA) and he studies the evolution of feathers, plumage and moult, in birds and feathered dinosaurs.
